Dr. Manuel Dudley, Dean of GTCC’s Greensboro Campus Honored with Legacy Award

GREENSBORO, N.C. — Dr. Manuel Dudley, Dean of Guilford Technical Community College’s Greensboro campus was recently honored with the WC Legacy Award from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro Alumni Association.

Each year, the UNC-Greensboro Alumni Association presents a series of Alumni of Distinction Awards, a tradition that began in 1960. The WC Legacy Award is given to alumni who have made significant contributions in their lifetime that exemplify value, character and high integrity.

Dean Dudley was recognized for his longstanding leadership and service on numerous community and statewide boards. For two decades, Dudley has served to advance affordable housing, mental health awareness, and commitment to higher education and work in the North Carolina Community College System.

In 2008, the North Carolina Community College System recognized Dr. Dudley for his trailblazing work in the statewide minority male mentoring initiative. He was appointed to the North Carolina Internship Council in 2015 and named Commissioner of the Greensboro Housing Authority in 2012.

Dudley is a 1994 and 1997 graduate of UNC-Greensboro and where he received a BS in Human Development and Family Studies, MS in Counselor Education, and EdS in Gerontology.
