EMPLOYMENT FESTIVAL TO CONNECT COMMUNITY TO TRAINING, JOBS

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Guilford Technical Community College’s Continuing Education division will host a festival Saturday, Sept. 24 to connect individuals to short-term training that leads to quick jobs and living wages. The Employment Connections Festival will be held 3 p.m.-6 p.m. at center court (lower level) of Four Seasons Mall, 410 Four Seasons Town Centre, Greensboro. There will also be giveaways and a live band.
Participants can learn more about programs such as aviation and manufacturing, computer integrated machining, nursing assistant, EMT, Firefighter Academy, personal fitness certification, notary public workshops, wedding and event planning, cake decorating and computers for job seekers. Students can prepare for licensure exams and earn industry-recognized credentials in a variety of fields. In a few weeks or months, students are armed with a certificate and prepared to enter a new career.
Representatives of the Adult Basic Education program also will be available to discuss multiple avenues to obtain a high school diploma, including the General Education Development (GED®) test and High School Equivalency Test (HiSET®) or traditional classroom instruction through the Adult High School Diploma program.
