JAMESTOWN, N.C. — Guilford Technical Community College will offer its Quick Careers Call Center Agent training course for a second time this fall after a successful run in October 2014.
The accelerated training course prepares individuals to work as an entry-level call center agent for the North Carolina Department of Revenue’s (NC DOR) new call center, which opened in December 2014 in Greensboro. Last year, 11 students received job offers from the NC DOR.
The Call Center Agent training course is part of GTCC’s Quick Careers Training program, which is designed to help unemployed, dislocated and under-employed workers develop skill sets for in-demand jobs. The course is a partnership between GTCC and the NC DOR.
The Call Center Agent course will be held Sept. 8-Oct. 29 on GTCC’s Greensboro Campus, 3505 E. Wendover Avenue. The class will meet 8:30 a.m.–1 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday over the course of 10 weeks. Upon successful completion of the training, individuals may elect to interview with the NC DOR if they desire to do so. Additionally, individuals who successfully complete this course are also encouraged to apply for call center positions with other area employers.
The course registration fee is $188. Textbooks and supplies are approximately $40. Additional registration fees may be required. For more information about the course, contact the Quick Careers office at (336) 334-4822, ext. 53108 or email@example.com.
