Graduates of GTCC HVAC Technology Program Receive Awards
JAMESTOWN, N.C. — Two graduates of Guilford Technical Community College’s Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Technology program have received recognition for outstanding achievement.
Vincent Nguyen of Greensboro was recognized by Malco Tools for its “Head of the Class” award. Nguyen, a 2018 GTCC graduate, completed the program with a 4.0 GPA, served as a junior marshal and earned third place in the SkillsUSA North Carolina State Conference in April. He also served as president of GTCC’s HVAC/Plumbing Student Association. Malco Tools presented Nguyen with a certificate and tools for trade in recognition of his achievements.

Each school term, the company recognizes outstanding students graduating from career education programs in Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning, Building Construction and Autobody Repair as part of its student recognition program.
Chad Tinko of Kernersville received Klein Tools Outstanding Graduate Award. The honor is presented to an outstanding student in a certified Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Technology program.
Tinko received a certificate, pair of engraved lineman’s pliers and a Kline multi-meter for his outstanding achievements in the program. Chad is a 2018 graduate of GTCC and recently accepted a position with the University of North Carolina at Greensboro where he will work as a facilities maintenance technician.
