JAMESTOWN, N.C. — Guilford Technical Community College’s annual Medical Job Fair will link qualified professionals to health care jobs in one of the fastest-growing industries in the U.S.
The Medical Job Fair will be held 1 p.m.-3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2 at Medlin Campus Center, level one, on GTCC’s Jamestown Campus, 601 E. Main St., Jamestown. The event is free and open to the public. Previous medical experience and/or training is recommended for all applicants.

Healthcare occupations and industries are expected to have the fastest employment growth and to add the most jobs between 2014 and 2024, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. The industry is projected to generate 9.8 million new jobs—a 6.5-percent increase between 2014 and 2024.

Attendance at last year’s medical job fair is evidence of the demand. The event drew more than 450 job seekers. This year’s event will host up to 35 employers including ComForcare Home Care Services, LabCorp, Cone Health, Wake Forest Baptist Health, Walgreens, Select Specialty Hospital and FastMed Urgent Care.

The companies will represent job fields such as medical office administration, health care management, medical records/medical billing and coding, physical therapy assistant, dental assistant, dental hygiene, pharmacy technology, surgical technology, medical assistant, CNA, RN, LPN, radiography, EMT.
