JAMESTOWN, N.C. — Guilford Technical Community College’s Small Business Center Director, Mark Hagenbuch, received the N.C. Small Business Center Network’s State Director of the Year award.
This is the second time Hagenbuch received the award; he previously won the award in 2013. Hagenbuch said he could not have done it without the help of his assistant, DarLinda Finch, as they are a “two-person team.”
“I believe that the Small Business Center Network is one of the most effective economic development tools that North Carolina has to offer entrepreneurs and small business owners,” said Hagenbuch, who has served as GTCC’s Small Business Center director since 2001. “I’m proud to be able to go around Guilford County and see the businesses that we have helped start, stabilize and grow.”
The Director of the Year is recognized for going above and beyond in providing significant support, time and service to the clients within their center’s service area.
The Small Business Center at GTCC is part of the statewide Small Business Center Network, a college-funded initiative with a vision to foster and support entrepreneurship, small business, and economic development in local communities with an emphasis on assisting start-ups, early stage and at-risk enterprises.
Guilford Technical Community College is the fourth largest of 58 institutions in the NC Community College System. GTCC serves more than 40,000 students annually from five campuses and a Small Business Center. Learn more at www.gtcc.edu.
